The West County side could muster 247 in pursuit of 276.
After a frenetic third day where 14 wickets fell, Gloucestershire resumed their second innings at 30 for 2. Jofra Archer and Ollie Robinson, the all-rounder, accounted for the scalps of Matt Taylor and Georgr Drissell as Gloucestershire slipped further to 38 for 4. At that stage, Roderick, the Natal-born cricketer who holds a British passport, and Bracey strung together a stand of 138 to lift the home side.
However, with 100 runs still required to chase down the target, Danny Briggs, the left-arm spinner, castled Roderick. Chris Jordan then removed Graeme van Buuren to leave the hosts in a spot of bother at 195 for 6. Ryan Higgins didn’t last long either, but Gloucestershire’s hopes were kept alive by Bracey as he stitched an alliance of 27 with Kieran Barnett.
Robinson, who has bagged 31 scalps in Division 2 this season, returned to the attack and put paid to the opposition’s hopes by snaring the last three wickets to fall in a space of 11 balls. Archer and Robinson bagged four scalps each for the visitors. Sussex are placed third on the table with 99 points, while Gloucestershire find themselves rooted at ninth slot.
