Pointing out the hazard caused due to the bursting of fireworks, Bhaichung Bhutia applauded netizens for showing the much-needed awareness towards environment protection.

As the entire country basks in the fervor and festive spirit of Diwali, sportstars from across the world sent in their wishes and promoted a safe and noiseless Diwali this year. From former India football captain Bhaichung Bhutia to former India opener Virender Sehwag and ex-Australian pacer Brett Lee, several sportspersons flocked to social media to wish their fans a Happy Diwali. Pointing out the hazard caused due to the bursting of fireworks, Bhaichung Bhutia applauded netizens for showing the much-needed awareness towards environment protection. Overwhelmed with the approach shown by people, the former footballer tweeted, “Happy Diwali everyone! In true sense it is a happy Diwali. I saw significantly less fireworks. It shows that we all care about our environment and preserving its beauty!”
