With an eye on the upcoming Tour Down Under against Australia, India decided to rest the bowling trio from the 3rd T20I against West Indies.

The Indian cricket team management on Friday announced that seamers Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah, and chinaman Kuldeep Yadav, have been rested from the 3rd T20I against West Indies, set to take place on Sunday, in Chennai. In a press release, the BCCI said that the decision has been taken to allow the bowling trio to be in the best physical condition ahead of India’s tour to Australia, which is set to begin from November 21, 2018.
The release added that the All-India Selection Committee has added seamer Siddarth Kaul as a replacement in the squad for the final T20I.
Kaul, who recently played for Punjab, in the Group B Ranji match against Andhra, has played 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is for India in the past. The right-arm seamer has not taken any wickets in the 50-overs format but has 3 wickets under his belt in the shortest format at an average of 13.
India have already won the 3-match T20I series against Windies, winning the first T20I by 5 wickets at Eden Gardens in Kolkata last week on Sunday, followed by a 71-run win in the 2nd T20I in Lucknow on Tuesday. Kuldeep Yadav, who picked up three wickets in the first match, was adjuged man-of-the-match for his performance.
India will travel to Australia later this month for series comprising of 3 ODIs, 4 Tests, 3 T20s. The first T20I between the two teams will take place on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at the Gabba in Brisbane.
