Chris Jordan called up to England Lions squad for Tri-Series

Surrey’s Sam Curran and Somerset’s Craig Overton have been called up to the England squad for the final two ODIs against Australia.

The players will join up with the team on Wednesday and will be available for the fourth match of the series on Thursday at Chester-le-Street, live on Sky Sports.

England sealed the five-match series with a 242-run victory at Trent Bridge on Tuesday, breaking their own ODI world record by smashing 481-6.

Both Curran and Overton had been in the England Lions squad for the Tri-Series against India A and West Indies A, which starts on Friday.
The pair will provide additional fast-bowling options, with Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes both absent for the remainder of this month.

Left-arm seamer Curran earned a call-up to England’s Test side earlier this month, claiming his maiden Test wicket against Pakistan at Headingley.
Overton made his Test debut during the Ashes series defeat in Australia, but fractured his rib in the third Test, before later returning for the ODI series in New Zealand.
Sussex’s Chris Jordan has been added to the Lions squad and will be available for the first two matches in Derby.
