Heath Streak will join the Scotland squad as consultant for the remaining two matches of the T20I tri-series between Ireland, Scotland and Netherlands in Amstelveen, it was confirmed on Monday (June 18).

Scotland have lost one game and tied one game and need to win the remaining two against the Netherlands to win the title. The team came into the tri-series high on confidence after sealing their maiden win over England in an one-off ODI. They, however, failed to sustain the form and lost the next two T20Is to Pakistan at home. In the first game of the tri-series, they lost to Ireland by 46 runs but managed to tie the game against the same opposition in Deventer.
Streak revealed that Grant Bradburn, the Scotland coach, asked him to join the squad. “Grant Bradburn asked me if I could share my T20 experience with them as a consultant to help the team as well as the coaches to evolve in that format and I was happy to share my knowledge and experience with them,” he said.

“They have really improved since the 2015 Cricket World Cup. They have now got a consistently competitive team and their historic first ODI win over England is a testament to their progress as a country in world cricket.”
Streak was removed by Zimbabwe Cricket after the team failed to qualify for the ICC World Cup next year. Zimbabwe lost to UAE and were knocked out of the tournament with Afghanistan and Windies going through. He then took up the role of bowling coach with the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2018.
