Northamptonshire vs Leicestershire, Northampton
Starting from an overnight score of 64 for 3, Leicestershire could only manage a slender first-innings lead of 13 runs as they were bowled out for 217 on Day 2 at the County Ground, Northampton. Rory Kleinveldt starred with a four-wicket haul while Ben Sanderson picked a three-for, with Leicestershire’s highest individual score being 45 by Neil Dexter.
Northamptonshire fared better in their second innings, with captain Alex Wakely leading the charge with the first half-century in the game. Wakely is unbeaten on 51 at stumps on Day 2, and will have a huge role to play in deciding the course of the match come tomorrow.

Gloucestershire vs Kent, Bristol
Kent rode on captain Joe Denly’s 107 on Day 2 at County Ground, Bristol, to stretch their overnight score of 297 for 4 to a handsome 582 for 9 declare. Darren Stevens chipped in with 89, with Adam Rouse and Harry Podmore playing their part with half-centuries to balloon the score well in excess of 500.
In response, Gloucestershire were reeling at 5 for 3 inside 9 overs, having been rocked by Darren Stevens’s double-strike that accounted for both the openers. Matt Henry and Harry Podmore then scalped one apiece to put Kent in very dominant position.

Warwickshire vs Glamorgan, Birmingham
Ian Bell’s unbeaten 106 guided Warwickshire to a 30-run lead over Glamorgan in the first innings. Trott chipped in with 57 to take Warwickshire to 250, braving through the opening bowlers, Lukas Carey and Timm van der Gugten, who shared seven wickets between them.
Glamorgan, in reply, managed to ease through the deficit in their second innings, thanks to an unbeaten 55-run stand between the openers Nicholas Selman and Jack Murphy.

Durham vs Derbyshire, Chester-le-Street
No play was possible after Tea on Day 2 at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street but two sessions were enough for a quick-paced match to progress on a helpful pitch. A ninth-wicket stand of 57 between Tony Palladino and Alfie Gleadall took Derbyshire to 205. Chris Rushworth and Matt Salisbury shared six wickets between them.
In reply, Durham fared much better than their first innings effort of 96 all out. A half-century from Tom Latham at the top and a couple of twenties from Graham Clarke and Gareth Harte has taken them into some kind of lead but Duanne Olivier’s three-wicket haul ensured that it’s not much. With just three opposition wickets to take and a lead sitting low at 46, Derbyshire have the match firmly in grip.
